Have I got this symbol right?
When Lateef learns that Baran's family is returning to Afghanistan, he is stunned. He walks to a small pool and sets his cap down on the edge. The camera lingers on it, and we notice that Lateef has attached the hairpin that belonged to Baran. He leaves the cap. Is that to suggest that he is leaving behind his youth and becoming an adult? (None of the other men in the film wear caps.) He is sanguine at the end--as though he has figured out who he is and where he fits into the universe.

What do you make of the last scene--where Lateef watches the rain fill the footprint in the mud?

Baran
I thought Baran was an intresting movie with a very unexpected ending. The story was good, but sad at the same time.I don't want to spoil the movie for those of you who haven't seen it yet.I recomend for to see it if you didn't.The acting in the movie was pretty good. The whole movie is in Afgan with English subtitles.I can't remember where the movie was filmed, but the location seemed to fit the story purfectly.Anyway good movie see it if didn't watch it yet.

I think the movie Baran was a cute movie. Lateef finds out that the boy was actually a girl and falls in love with her. But what I want to know is why didn't he ever talk to her or approach her? He obviously loved her enough to give all his earnings to her family when they were in need. Why did he let her go to Afghanistan. Point is, I didnt like the ending.
