The video "Search for the Afghan Girl" was very good. It kept me interested the whole time. Its amazing how a picture can reveal so much feeling. The picture of the Afghan girl really showed the anguish and suffering she felt and how hard it was for her to live during that time. Now years later after finding the afghan girl, she still reveals that same attitude. But it is relief to know that she has moved on, and has her own family. I strongly reccomend this video, it is a great film to watch.

When the film first began, i recognized the afghan girl from the cover of National Geographic. I was great to see the background of that picture and where the girl was. To me the most shocking part of the movie was to find out that the girl seemed to be in her 30's, but in reality was only about 26. What was you most memorable part of the movie?

After watching this video (Search for the Afghan Girl), i came to believe the quote that says that an image is worth more than a 1000 words. It's hard to believe that such an innocent young girl can reflect so much emotion through her eyes. This video help me understand more the harsh and traumatic condition in which this society is living day by day.

The search of the Afghan Girl was a great movie. I loved how it kept leaving me in suspense. The movie was very interesting, it kept me up. It’s funny how an image of a young girl can impact the world in such a great way. In the photograph taken of this girl, I saw her emotions come out through her eyes. Not just her eyes but her face too. With this picture is very easy to see what the people of Afghanistan are going through. This film not only searches for this Afghan girl but, it also shows how Afghanistan is today. Go watch it, its good!

It all began with a simple photograph of a young girl found in a refugee camp whos eyes captivated the world in a story of pain, love, and hope. The film was how the photographer after seventeen years went back to Afghanistan in search of the girl that covered the pages of the well known National Geographic Series. He searched Afghanistan with the help of other refugees that lived there starting with returning to the school it all began. He worked with the United States government by using top technology to find out her eye tissues and other features that only a conputer can discover. After many meeting with other women claiming to be her they call fell short in the end they never turned out to be her. Until finally in a small village living in a small shack like estate he came across the Afghan Girl. The photographer took many pictures and compaired them to the one in which he first took, the original. After months searching it was worth while. Her eyes still like emralds glistening in the sun. She was arranged into a marraige at the age of thirteen and now has four children trying to survive in everyday life like every other person. All she asked in return was for people to know both pain and love that the people of Afghanistan have for their country.

This documentary about the Afghan girl or The Search for the Afghan Girl is a deep and touching film about the search for a troubled girl. The man searching for the girl had taken a photo of her 17 years ago and was traumatized by the pain he saw in the girls beautiful eyes. He found himself going back to Afghanistan to find the girl. Although the odds that this woman would still be alive or that he would ever find her were nearly impossible, he still took on the task and none the less, took it head on. The unforgettable emerald green eyes of that little girl were a symbol of the Afghani people and their troubles. This little girls eyes portrayed the pain and tribulations that the Afghani people go through every day of their life. The questions of how the little girl came out to live or if she survived and if she did how, drove the photographer to search for those eyes one last time. In the end, he found the girl and her daunting eyes. The search for the Afghan girl was over.

The movie The Afghan Girl was a great film that gave you an opportunity to view the Afghanistan lifestyle. It keeps you on your toes waiting to see if they really do find her. It is amazing how much a picture can lead to and how many people went on a search to find her to see what happened with her life. I totally recommend the movie!

The movie the Afghan girl was one of the best movies I have seen. The movie talks about a photograph that a man toke of a girl seventeen years ago. The men go's back after all this years to see if he find her. The man thought he had found her and he didn't. Unfortunatley, time was over and now it was time for him to return back to the U.S so another photographer took his place in search of her. After months of serching he found her with a family and a life of her own. The girl behind the green eyes was now revealed.

The video "Search for the Afghan Girl" was very interesting because it shows you images of the life in Afghanistan. Gives you an idea of their culture. I was very impressed by the way the girl, wich had become a woman with her family and children, had change her appearance due to her suffering in life. It was a great film from National Geographic.

To me, I found it amazing how the girl could have been found after so many years. It illustrated the technology we have today in order to distinguish face characteristics. Her face looked a bit weathered due to the conditions in Afghanistan. One feature definitely stood out: those amazing green eyes.

The video clip about Sharbat Gula famously known as the "Afghan girl" was inspiring. The photographer (Steve McCurry) took a picture of a 10 years old Afghan girl, while at a refugee camp in Pakistan. McCurry returned to Afghanistan several years later in search of her. He endured a couple of false leads before finally completing his remarkable goal of locating her. The Afghan girl looked emotionally distraught after a noticeably difficult 20 years of life after the picture was taken. McCurry's determination in finding the girl is what was most inspiring. The Afghanistan culture requires women to be covered by a vail so their identity would not be shown. Despite this obstacle, McCurry still completed his goal in locating the Afghan girl.

The "Search for the Afghan Girl" video was very impacting and powerful. Throughout the film, hopes of the Afghan girl still being alive are slim to none. You begin to feel more and more anxious with every lead they are given. Upon discovering she is in fact alive and has her own family, is both relieving and uplifting. Finally, the girl we only knew as the "Afghan Girl", has a name and a story. Her story is one of the best I've heard this year.

This is a movie about an afghan girl that impacted a society, because of her eyesight. It was an impacting expression, her eyes expressed suffering, hate and sadness. A man took him a picture when during the war, and he was very interested in finding her, so she could explain to him what was the reason she expressed that emotion. After some years of looking for her, he finally found her and she explained to him what was ther reson she expressed like that.

This documentary was very moving. It amazes me how a man that took such a famous photo, was so determined to find the women he saw such a long time ago. He went to Afghanastan in a mission with barely any leads to find her, and he was so determined to find her that he did! very inspirational and touching story. We should all work together to try and help the Afghanastan community because they are hard working and great people!
Thankyou for this great Documentary!

This video was very interesting. It keeps the viewer's attention throughout the video, and it gives the opportunity too many people to understand all the suffering of not only this woman, but also of the rest of the people who lives in this country. I think her face and specially her eyes made a big impact on the people who watched this movie because not only is unforgettable, but it also reveals how she feels inside of her. I recommend this video.

The Afghan girl was made National throughout the world, and it was so amazing how nervous she was to have the photo retaken of her again. I enjoyed it and its impact that it had on me the whole movie.

The documentary “Search for the Afghan Girl” was surprisingly one of the best National Geographic films, I’ve seen. Watching the journalist look for any type of clues, for this girl was quite amusing. Being that their only clue was a picture [almost a decade old] of a girl, whose stunning eyes portrayed the suffering of the Afghanistan people. I watched hoping that the journalist would find the girl, watching him become closer to the end of his mystery, to a successful interview with her at the end.

The video "Search fo th Afghan Girl" is an excellent story. It's sad that the girl endured so much grief through out her life. It was a bit shocking to see a nation ruined by war and poverty. I was a little suprised to see her face as a grown women. she seems sader as a women than she did when she was a little girl. this video is worth watching.

Seeing this movie made me see how the fury of this little girl could reflect only in her eyes.Fury the comes from all the suffering the wars inflict in only one child....

Watching the documentary, "Search for the Afghan Girl" opened my eyes to the indigenous perspective of the Afghan people. This powerful film portrays the pain and suffering these people have endured throughout time. It’s amazing how in the eyes of one girl a picture can hold captive a story. The story of a young girl living a life of terror and heartache, yet she is resilient enough to overcome the anguish and start a family of her own. I believe this emotion filled documentary was enjoyable and I think you will agree.

Bryan22-21 said...

The film was very interesting and enduring. The suspense made me more interested in watching it and being able to see the girl as a grown woman. This film also encourages you to follow your feelings, when you want something you do anything in your power to get it. That is what the photographer did and made the film more interesting to me.

I thought that it was a very interesting film and I strongly recomend it to evryone.

This documentary supplies an exclusive approaching into everyday life in Afghanistan today. The picture of this nameless afghan girl with upsetting sea-green eyes, illustrate how tough was her life. After 17 years the mysterious girl is found, but her eyes still revealing the same hardiness. Her eyes and her face continued being a symbol of wartime dignity and survival …

The documentary "Search for the Afghan Girl" in my opinion was truly eye opening. I have always heard and had brief examples through the news about what the life style in a place like Afghanistan is like. This documentary goes into further detail of the struggle lived day to day. It was surprising to see how many people had no homes and lived in misery among tents and scraps of clothing. Initially when the quest to find the Afghan girl began I had little hopes for the search to be successful, but it was amazing to see how slowly through science it was becoming possible. Truly this documentary is worth watching. I learned a little more about the culture in the Middle East and it definitely helps while reading the Kite Runner. I would suggest for both readers and non readers of the novel to sit down and watch the documentary to have a little more piece of mind about how lucky we are to live in a country like the America. Perhaps through this film there will be more understanding about how hard it is not only for Americans but for the Middle Eastern world as well.

I stongly recommened others to watch the video "The Search for the Afghan Girl". Its an excellent film about an Afghan girl who had her picture taken by a famous photographer named Steve McCurry. McCurry is known for taking great pictures, but this one in specific touched the hearts of many. Throughout the video McCurry was on a quest to try and find this unknown girl. And what made his journey that much more difficult was the fact that this precise photo was taken 17 years ago. Fortunately, his searching was a success. Watch this film. I can guarantee you will enjoy it!

I strongly agree with aleman88; the video "Search for the Afghan Girl" was an amazing documentary. I was intrigued at every point. Not only was it touching to see how many people were moved into action by a single photograph, but it was interesting to learn how advanced technology is now, that a photograph can be used to determine whether the woman found was the Afghan Girl. It was beautiful to discover she is still alive and living a full life. She may not be living the American dream life but she is alive, with a beautiful family and even the slightest hope. It was disappointing, however, to find that the first woman found was lying about her identity. Why would someone do something like that? Was she driven by hopes of a reward? At least the real Afghan Girl was found.

In the video "Search for the Afghan Girl" was a very good clip.
It was amazing how just one picture represent all the pain and suffering in Afghanistan. It was also incredible how the photographer went to such great lengths to see if she was alive, well? with kids? if she was suffering? Even after all the years she is still suffering. I think its very important we take time and realize all the things we have and what we take for granted and thank god everyday and ask ourselves how we can help. Finally, I personally think this was a great movie that it should be shared with other people so they can see what it is that they go through over there. I really enjoyed the film.

The video clip about "The Search for the Afghan Girl" is deeply touching. It just shows us how good we have it over here. The afghan girl is well known by National Graphic Magazine. The photographer who took her picture is wondering what happen to her it took him years and some help from other people to find her. Her eye's still tells us how much plain she went through. But the sad part is there isn't records about anyone over there.

21-29“The search for the afghan girl” is an attractive video that make people think about the reality of Afghanistan. It shows the deplorable conditions where those people live and the poverty of that country. The story is about a search made for Steven Mc. Curry in order to find a girl that he photographed. With the only clue of her shocking eyes, he was looking for her during seventeen years, and finally…Well I think is better if you watch the video. You will have an unforgettable experience!

I remember when I first saw the picture a few years back. That’s what kept me so focused on the movie, I too felt like the photographer Steve McCurry. I was eager to find out what had happened to the girl, if she was alive, if she had survived for all those years. When they found the empostor I felt dissapointed. I could not belive she had lost those remarkable green eyes. Yet I kept saying to myself, nah that cant be her.
When she was found, I felt a sense of releave. Roughly17 years later she still had the same facial expression when her first picture was taken. It is sad that after all that struggle to find her and to put a face on a torn apart country that is Afghanitan, Sharbat Gula has returned to anonymity. She will not give another media interview and she wishes not to be contacted. Her family relocated to a different village in Afghanistan.

This movie was about a man who took a photo of a young girl who made an impact on the world with just the look in her eyes. Those green eyes tell a story of pain and suffering, how Afghanistan is suffering. This photographer goes back to Afghanistan after 17 years to try and find her, without knowing if she is alive. He is able to go back to the school where he first met her, and is led to several leads of her whereabouts. In the attempt to find her, he goes around Afghanistan showing a picture of her, and a little boy says he recognizes it and that she's his mother. Struck by excitement and anxiety he goes to meet her but because her husband is not home he has to wait until the next day to meet her if the husband allows it. It's in their custom for the husband to keep their wives from seeing any man especially one who is not a relative without their presence. It turns out that it is not her. Thanks to forensic science, they are able to study and differenciate the eye of the woman they found and eye of the picture. The eye is more accurate than a fingerprint. At the end he is able to find her through a man who said she was his sister. They had the same green eyes. She is still alive, with a husband and children. But she had gone through so much since the last time they met. Her daughter had died.
After so many years, the Afghan girl still remembers him from that day in school. He hadnt changed much, she said. To him she hadnt changed much either. Her eyes still tell that painful story of pain and suffering.
